Greetings and Happy New Year! We pray this 2026 calendar year has launched off in a direction full of peace, contentment and discernment from the Lord for you and your families. The Lord is teaching me in this season about full surrender to His perfect timing in all things. A dear mentor’s life verse reminds us that, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Prov 16:9) which we have found to be so true as we negotiate the construction world here in an ever increasing market. Navigating labor costs, materials and finances for our new build while also ensuring we maintain sound structure for our facilities, to include proper rain water run off have basically given me a college course in engineering, and that being in Spanish at that! So we covet your prayers as we find ourselves needing more funds to finish the project! In the end, we know it’s God’s timing. He goes before all things. We have broken ground on the first level of the building using the funds we already have, which will supply us with a stage for teaching and worship, and a large storage area for the 100+ chairs and tables we use to feed children and teams. If you or anyone you know is willing to help meet the need for the remaining expenses, let us know. We are happy to arrange a zoom call to chat further. The second story is designed to be a large, in-door classroom with air conditioning so we can have various break out groups for sessions with a bit more structure.

January started off strong for our ministry, having ended the new year with a wonderful mission team from Cedar Street Baptist Church in Metter, Georgia. Pastor Bo Fulginiti and his church have become very thoughtful and prayerful supporters of our work. We are delighted to end this month with yet another team from their church helping to minister to the workers on this construction project. More pictures to come in next month’s newsletter of their second team. Please be in prayer for them as they travel and serve here Jan 28 - Feb 3rd. This team will be led by the delightful Jim Savage, a former Wycliffe Associates missionary who has retired to Metter, GA and been a true mentor to Jordanna. Jim served in the South Pacific the same season Jordanna was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Vanuatu. Jim knew Jordanna’s bible teacher, Lindal who lived in Vanuatu during her three years there. The Lord waited a few decades for Jim and Jordanna to connect but it has been a wonderful connection of support as Jim has great knowledge around missions, boards, ministry and discipleship. We are very fortunate to have him on board!

January 10th all of our students who earned their discipleship points experienced a Rewards Water Day. We rented a large slip and slide and a bounce house with a water slide and the girls and boys delighted in being on the property. We played games, had pizza and enjoyed a day of fellowship. The next requested reward day is to go camping! Pray for us to make a way in April for that.

Several of our students have been attending the middle school youth group at Horizon Church. They also enjoyed a rewards day of swimming and fellowship with their American peers from the youth group. There will be a camp for these students happening in April also. The cost is just about $90 a student to go to camp. If you or anyone you know wants to sponsor a child for camp, let us know!
We are gearing up for a season of hosting many mission teams in April, May and June. Will you pray for the Lord’s direction to continue to prevail. If you are in or around the Tappahannock area, perhaps you can attend the Beale Mission Team’s Fundraiser on Feb. 7th. They are hosting a Bazaar to raise funds for project costs while serving. These funds will help build bunk beds for families in need, swings for our students on the property and feed the women attending a women’s conference here.
River and Windsor are doing very well in school. Thank you to everyone who prayed for River’s transition from homeschool back to the Christian school. He is doing remarkably well.

We pray the Lord blesses and keeps you this season. May he continue to guide you this year and bring you peace in all that you do. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers and remembering our ministry and needs. We could not do this work without you! If you or anyone you know wants to help us complete our second floor, large classroom with a one-time donation, please feel free to do so in these ways:
Mail a check to NOW Costa Rica at PO Box 2703 Tappahannock, VA 22560 with building fund in the memo.
Visit www.nowcr.org and click the green "Donate" button at the top right of the screen, then choose Building Fund from the drop-down.
God Bless you all!
With love,
Jordanna, fam & team
