2025: September

Greetings from Costa Rica!  We started out this month strong with our amazing team from Howerton’s Baptist Church.  Pastor Randy and his team of 8 came to do many things during their mission with us including a youth rally with over 50 students, building two bunk beds for girls in low income flood zones, feeding the homeless in our burrito program called Wake Up to Jesus and much more.  They donated all the supplies for future teams to be able to build bunk beds for families of NOW Costa Rica.  These tools will prove to be very handy around the property in the future.  We’re forever thankful for their impact and their longstanding relationship with our ministry!

This month we celebrated Costa Rica’s 203rd year of Independence! What a beautiful country the Lord has called us to for reaching His people.  We are thankful for the freedoms here and for your support as we continue to make progress in Herradura!  

Our boys group is finishing up a unit study on James each Sunday and our girls will start a new course on Saturday!  We are so thankful for the space for the students to gather now that MOST of the construction of the mulituso is complete.  We are amazed that in just 8 weeks we have such a grand facility!

On Oct 10 - 12 we will send 8 students to Horizon Church Youth Camp.  We are thankful for the partnership with this Bible Teaching church that Sarah and Daniel Barrett started nearly two decades ago.  We are delighted that Ian Conrey, who taught our boys classes while we were in the States this past summer, has now taken the Interim Youth Pastor role and will be leading the charge at this year’s youth camp for students ages 14 - 18.

As many of you know, we were so blessed to receive our 501c3 status!  We are embarking on a states-side trip to change over some accounts and will also be having another Writing Retreat!

Nov 20 - 23:  The NCA (NOW Council & Advocates) will gather at Sonshine farms to help continue to write curriculum and training materials supportive for our ministry!  Please be in prayer for our teamHosts: Beth and Andrew Sloane

Dec 26th - Team from CedarStreet Baptist will lead a Christmas VBS and school supply donation event

Jan 28th - Team from CedarStreet Baptist to help build Stage Project w/ second floor classroom 

February - Beloved Tom Saunders and family will come to visit, they helped us raise a large portion of the Multiuso Funds at Rose Union Baptist Church’s Beast Feast this past summer

March - The Porch Church will come and do a Spring break week of camp for our kids

April - we will partner with another ministry to host a team from Florida that are friends of our dear friend Trina Ludwig.

May - Our long time supporters John and Amy Moore will bring their church from Tennessee on a vision trip.

June 8 - Our beloved Beale Memorial Baptist Church will send a team of a dozen or more!

June 18 - Bazill family will come with several high school boys to put on a Christ centered basketball camp!
