Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all our supporters! Where would we be without you! Great NEWS! We were offered a matching gift campaign up to $10,000 for any one-time donations that come in before 11:49 pm Tuesday December 3rd, Giving Tuesday! That means your gift could be doubled and really impact our project on the property! We’ve come a long way in working to finalize the first phase of the Multiuso Project with the Casita. This “Little House” will house a full kitchen, two full bathrooms with showers for students as well as storage for ministry resources. We also have three rooms upstairs that we can use for small group bible studies and to host any overnight guests as needed. We are so thankful that we’re nearly done and able to host students with a bit more ease on the property. But we have a long way to go, hopefully launching the sports portion of the Multiuso Project in January. We cannot do this without your support. We are so excited to partner with various mission teams, churches and families to help this generation in Herradura combat the lure of the sex trade. Please consider donating online via the button below or mail a check to PO Box 1242 Tappahannock, VA 22560. Checks can be made payable to NOW Costa Rica and if postmarked December 3rd or sooner, will be matched in full!!!!
November has been a busy month. We hosted a curriculum writing retreat led by Nancy Dillingham, a retired missionary who has spent much time working with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She helped to organize a retreat that explored concepts from Jamie Winship’s Identity Exchange and other materials from Wycliffe such as the cycle of grace and discovering your voice. Trina Ludwig and Andrea Fulginiti were a delight to have as part of the retreat. We are using many concepts for the upcoming course for girls and mothers in the new year, Lord willing. Please keep us in prayer as we aim to deliver these messages in culturally appropriate, but impactful ways.
The day after the curriculum writing retreat, we welcomed a team from Warsaw, Virginia who launched our first ever bunk-bed making mission! As many of you know, girls in our program live in low-lying areas where the rivers rise quickly in the tropical downpours. Having a bunk-bed could save a life of small children and also help elevate belongings quickly in a flash-flood. Many of our families have several children or grand-children living with them and often inadequate sleeping space so the project served multipurposes! This team also fed the homeless, did street ministry, taught our girls about nutrition and more. We are thankful that folks from our hometown and surrounding areas can come and delight in ministry here.
As we approach December you can be in prayer for a new intensive course we are launching. Students finish their school year next week and will enter summer vacation for the next two months. The new school year begins in February. We are excited to offer bible studies, English classes and courses for mothers and boys even, this season during summer break. The courses will be twice a week. Please pray for the leaders Valeria, Doneira, Merary, Ariana & Christian.
We pray this season brings you great joy. If the Lord lays it upon your heart to walk alongside us financially, this is the weekend to do it! Imagine if all reading this email decided to give what they can, and it was matched! We have seen mighty works by our Mighty Creator and so we expectantly await and pray. Please reach out if you have any questions about how you can make your end-of-year gift double. Blessings!
