What a full month June has been! Thank you so much for your ongoing support and care for our work in Herradura! We are delighted that the children have finished another school year and we are currently enjoying an American summer in Tappahannock, Virginia. Windsor finished PreK at her Spanish school called Pequenos Angelitos (Little Angels) and River finished second grade at our little Church school we started at Horizon Church. Windsor will continue two days a week in Spanish Immersion and three days a week for Kindergarten at the church school. We are thankful for both opportunities. River got to have a spirit week the last week of school and you can see him here for “Workout Wednesday” with his peers. Windsor loves her classmates and both children are fluent now in Spanish.
We bid farewell to our beloved Brooke Dunn after her year long commitment to NOW Costa Rica serving as an intern. The students gathered for one last day of volleyball and discipleship before bidding her farewell. We bussed all the kids to Jaco to enjoy the multiuso of Horizon Church, the same type of facility we are currently fundraising to prayerfully put on our land in the fall or winter season. These types of spaces are so versatile and we are excited to see what the Lord will do for NOW Costa Rica resources in the future. The students decorated Brooke in bridal bomb gear to help her get ready for her big day in just a few weeks getting married to Cody Fisher. We know God will have great things in store for Brooke and we hope to have her come back to visit her students as life allows. She has been a true treasure to our work this year.
Jordanna and the children landed in Virginia in the wee early morning hours of June 19th. Greta Dunn, Brooke’s mother, was so kind to come and receive them in the middle of the night. The next day the trio headed to Tappahannock as Len Eastwood brought them the rest of the way down the pike. After a few days of recovering post red eye flight, fundraising event preparations were under way. The Ailors were able to reunite at Bella’s restaurant for a mission team reunion and then a few days later made meatballs for a spaghetti dinner for a few hundred folks in the area to enjoy. Proceeds went to support the land initiatives for NOW Costa Rica. Dale Mitchell, RuthE Tobey and several other church members from Women’s Connect, Howertons Baptist, Mt. Zion and Beale helped to serve. The support raised was well over $3,000. Several have expressed interest in coming to build a portion of the next phases for the buildings to come. Meetings will take place in the coming weeks. Please be in prayer for continued resources and manpower for the projects the Lord has for the land in Herradura.
Pepper will join the family in two weeks for Brooke’s wedding in Florida and a little family time in the mountains of Virginia. Please continue to pray for all four Ailor family members’ health. The transition always presents difficulties with allergens and food differences. River and Windsor will enjoy being a part of the local swim team, an art camp and tutoring with their sweet teacher Jami Carneal. Thank you for praying for their ongoing transitions here and back to life in Costa Rica. We know God has great things in store for us this year as we prepare to move into our home on the land in the coming months. Please be in prayer for the final stages of the Ailor family home build to go smoothly.
We pray God’s blessing on you and your family this season. We hope you are able to seek His presence in the good times and the bad, and to always draw nearer to Him each and every new day.
Sincerely,
Jordanna, fam & team
