Greetings and happy July! Yes a few days late, but the Ailor crew and NOW Costa Rica have been busy transitioning back from the States, into language school all while continuing ministry in Jaco. Thank you for praying for our family and children as we embrace constant transitions. Saying goodbye is never easy, but we are pleased to have family coming over the next few months to stay with us in Costa Rica.
ILE Language School has been a success! River and Jordanna are wrapping up their 6th week living in the capital city, San Jose and God has truly blessed us with great friends, teachers and community there. We have met people on fire for the gospel headed to Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Nicaragua. Several others who are studying alongside us will head back to various cities in the States, using their Spanish to minister to immigrant populations in their schools, churches and communities. We cherish the memories we have made and once again are preparing for another season of “goodbyes for now” with hopes of seeing each other again soon. River especially is fond of a British missionary kid named Joshua who’s moving with his family to Managua to help build churches. It’s just a 6-hour drive from our home, so we hope to spend time with the Quail family and invite you to pray for them as they too, learn Spanish with the purposes of reaching Latinos for the gospel in Managua, Nicaragua.
The Birds, the Bees and Jesus Saturday group has carried on despite our efforts to pause for language school. The girls and mothers have had various life events come up, causing us to return to Jaco each weekend, carrying on with various outreach and discipleship opportunities. It’s an honor to come alongside each of them. We plan to launch our next study Aug 28th and will add three more girls to our group. Please pray for Donerira, Ariana & Emilyada as they join our group in discipleship and community. We are so thankful all our girls, mothers and families are able to attend bible studies or worship 2-3 times per week. Thank you for investing in their lives as they recover from poverty, stress and the impact of living so near to the leading sex tourism destination in Latin America. It takes an army and we appreciate your support and prayers.
Pepper is hosting a Freedom Alliance mission team of veterans in September. Please pray that plans for their time here on the mission field are clear and prepared by God, that each will come to see the power of service in this beautiful country. We’re very excited about aligning Freedom Alliance, NOW Costa Rica and Horizon Church on various efforts for the Lord.
River will transition out of language school and into a new bilingual school called Inmaculada. It has more emphasis on Spanish and he will be the only expatriate student in his kindergarten class. We are in the middle of the school year here in Costa Rica, so we pray that this transition will bring River a opportunity to become fully fluent before starting first grade in January. Please pray with us as we all know when our children are successful, we can reach more people for the gospel.
Mt. Zion is hosting a Vacation Bible school next week focused on missions. They have invited our family to join via zoom on several sessions as children in the church learn more about what it’s like to make the decision to enter full time missions. The children will raise funds for NOW Costa Rica. We are so thankful for this partnership.
Our dear mentors Susan and Len are hosting a team from Manassas Baptist Church this very week. Please pray for John, Brooke, Jimmy, Ashley and Megan.
May God continue to grant you peace the surpasses all understanding, fill your hearts with joy and love.May you find more ways to serve others and know that the Ailors in Costa Rica truly appreciate your investment in the work of the gospel in Costa Rica.
